Rites For Long-Time Resident Of County [Wyandot Co, OH] To Be At Funeral Home

Funeral services for Mrs. Jesse E. Swan, 75, until recently of this community, who passed away at Toledo [OH] yesterday [31 JUL 1951] morning following a week's serious illness with a heart ailment, will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Bringman & Co. funeral home. Rev. W.A. Tabbert, pastor of the Evangelical United Brethren church here [Upper Sandusky, OH], will officiate. Interment will be made in Salem Evangelical United Brethren church cemetery, east of Upper Sandusky.

The body is at the Bringman & Co. funeral home where friends may call from Thursday [02 AUG 1951] noon until the hours of services.

Mrs. Adella Amanda Swan was born September 12, 1875, in Eden township, Wyandot county [OH], the daughter of Samuel and Sophia (Kuenzli) Althouse. She was united in marriage November 24, 1897, at her home in Eden township with Jesse E. Swan, who died in 1949.

Surviving is a daughter, Eva Roberta, wife of Henry (sic) Haines (sic), of Toledo; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a brother, Albert Althouse, and a sister, Bertha, wife of E.F. Stephan, both of Upper Sandusky. Five brothers and two sisters, Edward G. Althouse, Henry Althouse, Frank Althouse, Frederick Althouse, Mrs. Ida Failer, Lewis A. Althouse and Mrs. Alvena Swartz, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Swan, who had resided all her life in Wyandot county until recently going to Toledo, had been a member of the Salem Evangelical United Brethren church. She had transferred her membership to the local church after moving to Upper Sandusky.
