Dorothy Kinsley

Dorothy Elizabeth Kinsley, 88, of Sandusky, formerly of Nevada, died July 16, 2003, in her home.

She was born Aug. 30, 1914, to Alphaeus and Cora (Kreisel) McIntire. She married G. Nevin Kinsley, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are three daughters, Gloria Naus, Melbourne Beach, Fla., and Morral; Sharon Roszman, Lexington, Ky,; and Connie Miller, Port Clinton; eight grandchildren, Michelle St. John, Lexington; Jeff Miller, Burnsville, Minn.; Chris Roszman, Bowling Green, Ky.; Kristi Morris, Galloway; Beth Roszman, Lexington, Ky.; Ann Callis, Lexington; Jennifer Miller, Crestline; and Amy Miller, Port Clinton; 11 great-grandchildren; and a brother, David Harruff, Marengo. She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald.

While residing in Nevada, Mrs. Kinsley started the Parent Teacher Association and served as its first president. She was active in the Pythian Sisters and in Order of Eastern Star, where she served as worthy matron.

Mrs. Kinsley graduated from Bowling Green State University and taught in the Nevada, Wynford and Margaretta schools. After her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with family, friends, reading and gardening.

Mrs. Kinsley was active in the Nevada United Methodist Church and sang in the choir for many years. She retained her membership with the church after moving.

The family is hosting a memorial celebration between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. Aug. 7, at Nevada UMC.

Memorials may be made to the Nevada UMC Parsonage Building Fund or to the organization of the donor's choice.
