Osteopath Expires 4:15 P.M. Monday [15 APR 1957] At Residence Near Here

Dr. James A. Propst, 59, died at 4:15 p.m. Monday in his residence on route one, Upper Sandusky [OH], after an illness of several years. Death was attributed to complications.

Born December 25, 1897 in Paris, Illinois, he was the son of Edward and Malina (Niles) Propst. He was married August 1, 1929 in Upper Sandusky to the former Kathryn McClain, who survives at the late home.

Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Helen Barnes, of Missoula, Montana, and Mrs. Lucille Boardman, of Columbus, Ohio. One brother, Dr. Kenneth Propst, is deceased.

Dr. Propst had lived 29 years at his late residence. He was a graduate of the Kirksville School of Osteopathy in Kirksville, Missouri and began his practice in Upper Sandusky in 1923. He served several terms as Wyandot county [OH] coroner, and was a member of Paris Lodge No. 268 of the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, the American Legion, and Emanuel Evangelical and Reformed Church, south of Upper Sandusky.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 3 p.m. in the Lucas funeral home in Upper Sandusky with Rev. A.M. Bosler, acting pastor of the Emanuel Evangelical and Reformed Church, officiating.

Interment will be made in Oak Hill cemetery near Upper Sandusky. Friends may call Wednesday [17 APR 1957] and Thursday [18 APR 1957] evenings at the funeral home.
