ASA QUAIL

Dies At His Home Southeast of Kirby [OH], Tuesday [07 FEB 1922]

Asa Quail died at his home two miles southeast of Kirby, Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock. Death was due to a complication of diseases and infirmities of age, he having been bedfast for the past week.

Deceased was the son of Henry and Barbara (Pepple) Quail, both deceased, and was born in Columbiana county [OH] January 27, 1838, being aged 84 years and 10 days at the time of death. He was married to Miss Mary R. McLain (sic) May 28, 1863. His wife preceded him in death twenty years ago. To this union were born seven children, one having died in infancy. Those living are Mrs. Harry Hougendobler, of east of Forest [OH]; Mrs. Martha Lick, of Kenton [OH]; Mrs. Ada Morrison, of west of Kirby; George Quail and Avery Quail, of Mifflin township [Wyandot Co, OH], and Mrs. William Trachsel, of this city [Upper Sandusky, OH]. Besides his children Mr. Quail leaves one brother, John Quail, of south of Kirby; one sister, Mrs. David McCleary, of Brownstown [OH], sixteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mr. Quail was a member of the Kirby Church of God and was highly respected by a legion of friends.

The funeral will be held Thursday [09 FEB 1922] afternoon at 1 o'clock at the home. Burial will be made in Oak Hill cemetery. Friends please omit flowers.
