Kathryn Propst

E. Kathryn Propst, 99, died at 7 a.m. Monday, Feb. 10, 1997, in Wyandot Memorial Hospital. Formerly of rural Upper Sandusky [Wyandot Co, OH], she had resided in Fairhaven Retirement and Health Care Community the past few years.

She was born in Wyandot County on July 23, 1897, to Abraham and Alvena (Foucht) McClain. On Aug. 1, 1929, she married Dr. James Propst in Upper Sandusky. He died April 15, 1957.

Surviving are nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were four brothers, Earl, Frank, Thomas and Luke McClain; and a sister, Marguerite Small.

Mrs. Propst was a homemaker and retired school teacher. She was a member of Emanuel United Church of Christ and its Women's Guild; a 60-year member of Warpole Chapter 366, Order of the Eastern Star, in Upper Sandusky; and a 50-year member of Col. William Crawford Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution. She graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1917.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday [12 FEB 1997] in Lucas Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Calling hours at the funeral home are 7-9 p.m. Tuesday [11 FEB 1997]. Memorial contributions may be made to Wyandot Memorial Hospital.
