Services To Be Friday [27 FEB 1965] Afternoon For Area Farmer

Vernon McClain, 54, of route one, Upper Sandusky [OH], was dead on arrival at Wyandot Memorial Hospital at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday. He passed away suddenly of a heart attack.

Born October 2, 1910, in Pitt Township [Wyandot Co, OH], he was the son of Charles A. and Mary Catherine (Secoy) McClain. On January 8, 1930, in Salem E.U.B. [Evangelical United Brethren] parsonage he married Isabel Bardon, who survives.

Also surviving are four sons, Charles F., Thomas F. and Kenneth E., all of Upper Sandusky, and David of Oxford [OH]; six grandchildren and a brother, Ora McClain, of Nevada [OH]. Two sisters, Mrs. Rosella Clabaugh and Mrs. Irene Clabaugh, and two brothers, Roy and Floyd, are deceased.

Mr. McClain, a farmer, resided his entire lifetime in the Upper Sandusky area. He was a member of the Emanuel United Church of Christ and a Pitt Township trustee.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. from the Lucas Funeral Home here. The Rev. Frederick Santschi will officiate and interment will be made in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after noon on Thursday [25 FEB 1965].
