Dies at Home North of Harpster [OH] Saturday [01 NOV 1930] Morning

R.S. Wood, prominent farmer of north of Harpster, passed into the sleep of death Saturday morning at his home. Mr. Wood had been in failing health for about seven months, his condition becoming serious but a few days ago. Death was attributed to a complication of diseases.

Reuben Scott Wood was the son of Reuben and Diantha Bay Wood, both long since deceased, and was born on the farm where he died, January 20, 1859, being aged 71 years, 9 months and 9 days at the time of death. He was married to Miss Leefe McClain April 8, 1879. Mrs. Wood preceded her husband in death March 12, last. Three children were born to this union, Grace, wife of F.A. Fowler, of Little Sandusky [OH]; Walter Scott Wood, who died in young manhood, and Homer C. Wood, at home. Two grandchildren, Mrs. Robert Edie, of Toledo [OH], and Rush Fowler, of Little Sandusky, also survive. Mr. Wood was the last of a family of ten children.

Mr. Wood had engaged in agricultural activities, living north of Harpster his entire life. He was well known and highly esteemed by a large circle of friends throughout the community.

Funeral services will be held Monday [03 NOV 1930] afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Wood residence in charge of Rev. L.B. Smith, of Harpster. Burial will be made in Oak Hill cemetery.
