Mrs. Myrtle Estella Troup, wife of Charles Troup of Pitt township [Wyandot Co, OH], died at Grant hospital at Columbus Wednesday [28 DEC 1910] evening, following an operation that had been performed Tuesday [27 DEC 1910]. Mrs. Troup had been in ill health for several years and her condition had been serious for the past several weeks. She was removed to Grant hospital Monday [26 DEC 1910] morning.

Mrs. Troup was the daughter of Abraham and Catherine McClain and was born March 25, 1870, being in her forthieth (sic) year. Her marriage to Mr. Troup took place in September, 1890, and with the husband five children survive to mourn her loss, namely, Bessie, Grace, Mary, Fred and James, all residing at home. Mrs. Troup is also survived by her mother, Mrs. Catherine McClain, six brothers and sisters, A.L. McClain, Elmer (sic) McClain, Charles McClain, Mrs. Z.T. Smith, Mrs. Reuben Wood and Mrs. Gus Smith, and a half brother and a half sister, Zack McClain and Mrs. Hugh Mason, of near Kirby [OH].

The funeral will be held Friday [30 DEC 1910] morning. The cortege will leave the Troup home at ten o'clock and services will be held at Emanuel Reformed church at 10:30 o'clock. Rev. A.E. Baichly will conduct the services and burial will be made in Oak Hill cemetery.
