Mrs. A.S. Smith, 87, of southeast of Upper Sandusky [OH], passed away this Monday forenoon at the home of Ray Smith, of route one, Upper Sandusky.

MRS. A.S. SMITH SUCCUMBS MONDAY [27 OCT 1952]

Services To Be Held Thursday [30 OCT 1952] With Burial In Oak Hill

Mrs. Emma Alice Smith, 87-year-old widow of the late Augustus Stephen Smith, died unexpectedly at her home on route one, Upper Sandusky [OH], at 7:45 a.m. Monday.

Born in Crane township, Wyandot county [OH], June 17, 1865, the deceased was a daughter of Abraham and Catherine Ann Berlien. She was married to Augustus S. Smith March 24, 1885. He preceded her in death April 15, 1950.

Surviving are four sons and two daughters, Ray Smith, at home; Alva and David Smith, of this city [Upper Sandusky, OH]; Delbert Smith, of northeast of Upper Sandusky, and Mrs. A.H. Winter and Mrs. Charles Clinger, both of near Nevada [OH].

Also surviving are ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Smith was the last of a family of seven brothers and sisters. She was a member of Emanuel Evangelical and Reformed Church in Pitt township [Wyandot Co, OH].

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. from Emanuel Evangelical and Reformed Church with the pastor, Rev. E.E. Engle, officiating. Interment will be made in Oak Hill cemetery.

Friends may call at the late home after 7 o'clock this Tuesday [28 OCT 1952] evening until noon Thursday, at which time the body will be taken to the church to lie in state from 1:30 until time for services.
