Death Results After Four Weeks Illness; Burial In Oak Hill Cemetery

A.L. McClain, 86, Wyandot county [OH] farmer, passed away at his home southeast of this city [Upper Sandusky, OH] Tuesday [01 OCT 1946] at 11:30 a.m. Death resulted from a complication of diseases following a four weeks' illness.

Mr. McClain was born in Crane township, Wyandot county, May 20, 1860, the son of Abraham and Katherine (sic) Berlin (sic) McClain. He was united in marriage with Alvena Foucht, November 1, 1883. His marriage took place at the home where he passed away, as he resided at that location for sixty-three years. Mrs. McClain died in 1934 (sic).

To this union were born the following children all of whom are living: Earl F. and Luke McClain, both of this city; Mrs. Katherine Propst, who resides at her father's home; Frank E., of Lima [OH]; Thomas W., of Bridgeport [OH], and Mrs. Marguerite Small, of New York City [NY]. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Two brothers and one sister surviving are Charles A., of this city; Elmore, of Forest [OH], and Mrs. Emma Smith, of near this city.

Mr. McClain was a member of Emanuel Evangelical and Reformed church of Pitt township [Wyandot Co, OH], and a member of the consistory for thirty-seven years.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon at 1:30 from the late home, and at 2 o'clock from Emanuel Evangelical and Reformed church. Rev. F.W. Hoffman will officiate with burial in Oak Hill cemetery near this city.

Friends may call at the late home after 7:30 this evening.
