Dies South of Town [Upper Sandusky, OH] Thursday [14 AUG 1913] Morning, at 9 o'clock.

Zackary T. McClain died at the home of his step-mother, Mrs. Catherine McClain, south of town, Thursday morning at 9 o'clock, from asthma and heart trouble. He was in poor health for some time. Wednesday [13 AUG 1913] night, about 12 o'clock, he suffered a severe attack and sank into unconsciousness about 1 o'clock, in which condition he remained until death resulted.

Mr. McClain was the son of Abraham and Mary A. Neff McClain, now deceased. He was born in Pitt township [Wyandot Co, OH], near Little Sandusky [OH], May 6, 1847, and was in his sixty-seventh year at the time of death. He was never married, but lived with his step-mother on the home farm. Besides Mrs. McClain he is survived by the following half-sisters and brothers: Mrs. Z.T. Smith, Mrs. R.W. Wood, Mrs. A.S. Smith, A.L. McClain and Charles McClain, all residing in Pitt township; and Elmore McClain, near Kirby [OH]. Mr. McClain was noted as a nimrod. He was well known in this city [Upper Sandusky, OH] and especially in the south part of the county [Wyandot Co, OH], where he had always lived.

The funeral will be held Saturday [16 AUG 1913] afternoon, at 1:30 o'clock, from the house. Interment will be made in Oak Hill cemetery.
