DIED AT SOLDIERS' HOME.

Word was received by relatives in this vicinity [Wyandot Co, OH] that John McClain had died at the Soldiers' home in Sandusky [OH] Thursday [01 APR 1909]. His son, Dr. C.M. McClain, of Attica [OH], went to Sandusky and will bring the remains here.

Mr. McClain was in the seventies. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Charles Stauffer, of Morral [OH]; and one son, Dr. McClain, of Attica. One brother, Zack McClain, resides on the home farm, south of town [Upper Sandusky, OH], and one sister, Mrs. Hugh Mason, lives at Kirby [OH]. He is also survived by the following half-brothers and sisters: Mrs. Z.T. Smith, Mrs. A.F. Smith, Mrs. Reuben Wood, Mrs. Charles P. Troup, A.L. McClain and Charles McClain, all of south of town; and Elmore McClain, of near Kirby.

The remains will arrive here over the Hocking Valley railroad, at 6:30 o'clock, Friday [02 APR 1909] evening, and will be taken by Undertakers Clinger & Bringman to the Mother McClain home, south of town, from where the funeral will occur Saturday [03 APR 1909] morning at 10 o'clock. Burial will be made in the Little Sandusky [OH] cemetery. The services will be conducted by Rev. A.E. Baichly, pastor of Emanuel's (sic) Reformed church, in Pitt township [Wyandot Co, OH].

JOHN M'CLAIN

Relatives received word Friday [02 APR 1909] of the death of John McClain, which occurred Thursday [01 APR 1909] afternoon at the Soldiers' Home in Sandusky [OH]. Deceased was aged seventy-four years and was born in Marion county [OH], but resided on a farm south of town [Upper Sandusky, OH] for many years. He was a veteran of the civil war and belonged to Robbins' post, G.A.R. He has been at the home for three years.

Mr. McClain was married twice, both of his wives being deceased. He is survived by three children: Mrs. Charles Stauffer of Morral [OH], Mortimor McClain of Attica [OH] and Arch. McClain of north of town [Upper Sandusky, OH].

The funeral of John McClain, who died at the Soldiers' home at Sandusky Thursday, was held from the McClain homestead, south of this city, Saturday [10 APR 1909] morning at 9:30 o'clock, Rev. A.E. Baichly officiating. Interment was made at Little Sandusky [OH]. The pallbearers were: Chas. M. McClain, Chas. McClain, Chas. Stoffer (sic), Elmer (sic) McClain, Hugh Mason and Z.T. McClain.

Those attending from a distance were: Asa Quail of Kirby [OH], Mr. and Mrs. C.M. McClain of Attica, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Stoffer (sic) of Morral, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Mason of Kirby and Mrs. Ada Morrison of Forest [OH].
