Lifetime Resident's Funeral Services Set For Saturday [05 JAN 1957]

Mrs. Mary May McClain, 80, widow of the late Charles A. McClain, died at her home at 423 North Seventh street, Wednesday afternoon at 1:10. Death was attributed to a stroke. Mrs. McClain had been in failing health for nearly three years.

She was born in Pitt township, Wyandot county [OH], August 24, 1876, the daughter of Noah and Mary (Miller) Stoneburner. She was married to John Secoy, who died a number of years ago. Later she was wed to Charles A. McClain, who also is deceased.

Surviving are three children, Mrs. Mary Dunlap, who resided with her; Harold J. Secoy, of Indianapolis, Ind., and Mrs. Alice Caldwell, of Erie, Mich.; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. James McConnell, of Columbus [OH]. Four children, Mrs. Helen Myers, Ralph Secoy, Miss Mabel Secoy and E. Nelson Secoy, and two brothers, preceded her in death.

Mrs. McClain was a member of Trinity Evangelical and Reformed Church and of the Martha class of the Sunday school. She had resided all her life in this community.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock from the Bringman & Co. funeral home with Rev. Paul E. Rohrbaugh, pastor of Trinity Evangelical and Reformed Church, officiating. Burial will be made in Oak Hill cemetery.

The family requests that friends call Friday [04 JAN 1957] afternoon from 2 to 5 and Friday evening from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.
