NELLIE EVELYN GRUNDTISCH

Nellie Evelyn Grundtisch died at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Grundtisch, northeast of town [Upper Sandusky OH], at 12:30 o'clock, Sunday [15 JAN 1911] morning, from diabetes, after an illness since the middle of October. Saturday [14 JAN 1911] noon she sank into a stupor and gradually grew weaker until she passed away.

Nellie Evelyn Grundtisch was the daughter of Edwin and Callie Mossman (sic) Grundtisch and born on the Jonas J. Hulse farm, southwest of town, August 21, 1904, being aged 6 years, 4 months and 24 days. Besides her parents she leaves to mourn her death, one brother and four sisters, Harvey, Edna, Ruth, Marjorie (sic) and Ida Dale (sic). Nellie was possessed of a sunny disposition and had endeared herself to her schoolmates and many friends, whose sympathy is extended to the bereaved family.

The funeral will be held Tuesday [17 JAN 1911] afternoon, at 12 o'clock from the house and later from Trinity Reformed church, in this city, conducted by Rev. Clendenning, pastor of the Methodist Protestant branch of West Union church, assisted by Rev. C.D. Kriete, of the Reformed church. Interment will be made in Old Mission cemetery. Lenore Winning, Annabel Ellis, Wanda Alspach and Fern Pool, members of her Sunday school class at West Union, will act as pallbearers, while Fern Imler and Rosa Carpenter, two other members, will carry the flowers.

LITTLE GIRL CALLED AWAY

Little Nellie Evelyn Grundtisch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Grundtisch, residing on the Maffet farm, five miles northeast of this city [Upper Sandusky, OH], answered death's summons at 12:30 Sunday [15 JAN 1911] morning, after suffering since October with diabetes, but only being bedfast for one day.

Nellie Evelyn Grundtisch, daughter of Edwin and Callie (Mosman) Grundtisch, was born Aug. 21, 1904, on the Hulse farm southwest of this city, and was, therefore, aged six years, four months and twenty-four days at the time of her death. She was a very bright little girl and started to school last fall, but on account of ill health was only able to attend a short time. She attended the West Union Sunday school and was well like by her many young friends.

Besides her parents she leaves four sisters and one brother, all living at home. They are: Edna, Ruth, Margery (sic), Ida Dale (sic) and Harvey Grundtisch.

The funeral was held Tuesday [17 JAN 1911] at the house at 12 o'clock and later at the Trinity Reformed church in this city. Rev. Clendenning, pastor of West Union church, and Rev. C.D. Kriete, pastor of the Trinity Reformed church conduct (sic) the services, and burial was made in Old Mission cemetery. The pallbearers were six little girls from deceased's Sunday school class: Lenore Winning, Annabelle Ellis, Fern Imler, Fern Pool, Wanda Alspach and Rosa Carpenter.
