Kin Of Local People Dies In Chicago [IL] Hospital Tuesday [06 SEP 1938]

Relatives here [Upper Sandusky, OH] have received word of the death of Harry Edward Irvin, 50, of Chicago, Ill., who died at a Chicago hospital Tuesday morning after a long illness. Mr. Irvin had been taken to the hospital two weeks ago for treatment and care. He had been in failing health for over four years, his condition becoming serious during the past year. Death was attributed to complications.

Harry Edward Irvin was born in Kansas City, Mo., August 7, 1888, the son of the late Frank Irvin and Mrs. Emma Grundtisch Irwin (sic), who also resides in Chicago. Married 18 years ago, his wife, Mrs. Mabel Irvin, also survives.

Mr. Irvin was formerly employed in a Chicago manufacturing plant, but had not been active during his illness. He was a member of the Masonic orders in Chicago. Mr. Irvin had frequently visited here with relatives, of whom he leaves a number in this county [Wyandot Co, OH]. He was the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Grundtisch.

Private funeral services will be held from the Bringman & Co funeral home Friday [09 SEP 1938] afternoon at 2 o'clock, with Rev. George W. Good, pastor of Trinity Evangelical and Reformed church, in charge. Interment will be made in Old Mission cemetery.

The mother, Mrs. Emma Irvin and her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. G.O. Heath, and their daughter, Virginia, also of Chicago, were to arrive here Thursday [08 SEP 1938] afternoon to attend the funeral services. The body will arrive here Thursday afternoon at 3:16 o'clock on the Pennsylvania railroad.
