Mildred M. "Mid" Willson, formerly of Eden Township and more recently of 499 N.
Fourth St., Upper Sandusky, died at 5:35 p.m., Friday, March 21, 2003, at the
Wyandot Manor Nursing Home. She was 83.
Born in Wyandot County on June 10, 1919, she was a daughter of E.R. and
Christina (Wagner) Goodman. She married Floyd "Bud" Willson on April 17, 1938,
in Sycamore. He died March 8, 1995.
Surviving are a son, Donald, Nevada; a daughter, Marlene Oiler, Melford,
N.J.; three grandchildren; Brian Oiler, Medina; Jeff Willson, Nevada; and Laura
Book, Upper Sandusky; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by
a sister, Mabel Bowers; and four brothers, Noble, Arthur, Ray and Wilson.
A homemaker, Mrs. Willson retired from Eden and East schools as a cafeteria
cook after 25 years of service. She also assisted on the family farm in Eden
She was a 58-year member of Union United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Willson enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening and had a touch with
roses. She also liked working in and mowing her yard and taking care of her
home. Mrs. Willson enjoyed playing cards, doing crossword puzzles, completing
jigsaw puzzles, reading novels, baking cookies, hunting mushrooms, picking
elderberries, traveling, sitting on her swing and collecting lighthouses and
The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Bringman-Clark and Co. Funeral
Home with the Rev. Sonja Bender officiating. Burial will be in Old Mission
Cemetery. Visitation is at the funeral home from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. today.
Memorial may be made to the Wyandot County Chapter of the American Cancer
