MRS. IDA M. SWAN PASSES AWAY MONDAY [07 MAY 1945]

Well Known Resident Is Victim Of Heart Attack

Mrs. Ida Swan, 76, of east of this city [Upper Sandusky, OH], passed away suddenly Monday afternoon at her home at 2 o'clock. She was found by Clarence Motter, who tenants her farm. Death was due to a heart attack.

Mrs. Ida Mae (Blaser) Swan was born January 29, 1869, in Eden township, the daughter of Rev. Goddfried (sic) and Rosa (Kuenzli) Blaser. On October 4, 1899, she was united in marriage with Frank L. Swan, in Upper Sandusky, he having preceded her in death June 30, 1928. Two children, Irene, wife of Gale Wilson, of Upper Sandusky; Marjorie, wife of Allan (sic) Baublitz, of Nevada [OH], survive, and one daughter, Mariam (sic), died at the age of five months. One sister, Mrs. Thressa (sic) Flowers, of Galion [OH], and one brother, Ben T. (sic) Blaser of Cleveland [OH], survive. Ten brothers and sisters preceded her in death. Six grandchildren, [Still living] of Huston (sic), Texas; [Still living], of Junction City, Kansas; [Still living], [Still living] and Tim (sic) Wilson of Upper Sandusky, and [Still living], of Nevada, also survive.

Mrs. Swan was a member of the Salem Evangelical church, where she taught in the Sunday school for a number of years, and was a member of the Woman's Missionary Society of the church.

miblas02.jpg (46035 bytes)Funeral services will be held Thursday [10 MAY 1945] afternoon, with a prayer service at the home at 1 o'clock, after which the body will be taken to Salem Evangelical church, where it will lie in state until 3 o'clock, at which time services will be held. Rev. Charles Holzwarth, pastor of the church, will have charge, with burial being made in the church cemetery. Funeral Directors Bringman & Co. are in charge.

Friends may call at the Bringman funeral home this Tuesday [08 MAY 1945] evening, after 7 o'clock, and at the Swan home Wednesday [09 MAY 1945] evening after 7, until 1 o'clock Thursday afternoon.

Funeral Services For Mrs. Ida Swan

The funeral of Mrs. Ida Mae Swan, who died at her home east of Upper Sandusky [OH], Monday [07 MAY 1945] afternoon, was held from Salem Evangelical church, Thursday [10 MAY 1945] afternoon, in charge of the pastor, Rev. Charles Holzwarth. The pastor read "The Old Rugged Cross," "Good Night And Good Morning" and "Saved By Grace." The pallbearers were: W.T. Kuenzli, Ezra Kuenzli, J.W. Schilling, V.O. Schindler, Henry Alspach and Harry Gottfried. Interment was made in the church cemetery.
