Former Resident Dies Suddenly in Barberton [OH] Sunday [06 MAR 1927]

John W. Blaser, a former resident of near this city [Upper Sandusky, OH], was found dead in bed at his home in Barberton, Sunday morning by his wife. Death was due to apoplexy.

Mr. Blaser was the son of Rev. and Mrs. G. Blaser, both now deceased, and was born east of town [Upper Sandusky, OH], in 1871. In his young manhood he was united in marriage to Lucille Lucas, who survives. There were no children born to this union. Besides his wife he is survived by the following brothers and sisters, W.J. Blaser and Mrs. F. L. Swann (sic), of east of town; B.F. Blaser, of Cleveland [OH]; and Mrs. B.C. Flowers, of Galion [OH]. Mr. Blaser was a former principal of the Nevada High school. At the time of his death he was pharmacist in Barberton and had served in that capacity for the past thiry (sic) years. He was also president of the American Savings and Loan Co. and was acting president of the Rubber Products Co. at Barberton. He was president of the Blaser Realty Co. at Cleveland and was also identified with other business enterprises. He was a member of the Barberton Chamber of Commerce.

Private funeral services will be held Wednesday [09 APR 1927] morning at his home in Barberton and the remains will brought (sic) overland to the Salem Evangelical church east of town, from where services will be held. Interment will be made in the church cemetery. Friends may view the remains at the church. The funeral cortege is expected to arrive here about 12:30 o'clock.
