Nevada Alumni Banquet

HOLMES TOWNSHIP – There were 102 alumni, faculty and guests present at the Nevada Alumni Association’s annual banquet on May 17 at Wynford High School. Honored classes were 1954 and 1959.

Norma (Starner) Gebhardt, Marsha (Schwartzkopf) Gathright and Sandra (Gortner) Stuckman decorated the tables. Wilma Burky and Mary Jane Bender planned and chaired the event. Katering Kountry Style prepared the dinner that was served by the Wynford Band members. Wynford FFA set up the tables.

Charlie and Norma (Monroe) Bowers were greeters. Paul and Joyce (Farmer) Motter were at the registration table.

Marvin Monroe, Mark Monroe and their harmonica group provided music. Howard Gilliland gave the invocation.

Cletabelle (Eyestone) Barnes shared memories of the class of 1954 and introduced the class. Class members present were Bert Adams, Jim Steinhilber, Joyce (Cover) Funk, Eva Mae (Heistand) Reidlinger, John Suter, Margaret (Shilling) Eier, Sally (Minier) Bell, Patricia (Roberts) Hoelle, Richard Larick, Anita (Stover) Speigel and Cletabelle (Eyestone) Barns.

Deceased members of the class of 1954 are Robert Best, Karl Dilly, Mary (Pell) Hart, Ardith (Young) Herandez, Thomas Stover and Sharon (Alban) Thiebant.

David Monroe introduced his class of 1959. Class members present were Richard Gregg, Ruth (Stover) Fisher, Lorrene (Markley) Roberts, Richard Roberts and Ron Oiler.

Deceased members of the class of 1959 are Collene (Wood) Hummel, Sharon (Sheaffer) Spade, Walter Oliver, Violet Traxler, Mervin Walter and Joan (Johnson) Burky.

Patricia (Steinhelber) Reed was the only former teacher present.

The winner of the Luther Lust Scholarship was Rachel Redolf.
